Kira |
Kira is a 2 year old Siberian Husky bitch, who has been with us since she was 12 weeks old. We rehomed her from her previous owners when they could no longer keep her as they had to move home (at least that was their excuse), she hadn't been named and had never seen a lead before. She was terrified of everyone and everything. When we got her home we realised just how frightened she was, she had an accident on the floor, then stood there looking at it, shaking. As I walked over to clean it up she pee'd in fright and cowered away, she then ran behind the sofa with her tail between her legs and refused to come out for over an hour. She had clearly been beaten, and she was only 12 weeks old. It took a long time to build up trust between us, and a lot of socialiation, but 2 years on and she is a happy and outgoing girl, who loves every dog she meets, and most people, the only people she doesnt like are those who smell like alcohol, and she will refuse to go near them. She is worked regularly in harness and done very well in her 1st working event, running 5 miles in 35 minutes! |
